Wait! What happened to the Josephine Project?!?!

Don’t worry. We’re still right here. The Josephine Project was a working title. We’ve now settled on “What You Meant for Evil.”

A sister sold, a father betrayed, and a son who can never forgive.

When Samira, the bright, capable, favorite daughter of Yacoob Masoud is sold by her jealous brother, everything changes. Her life of privilege and possibility is turned upside down as her native Syria erupts in war. Migrants flood to Europe. ISIS rises. Samira and her family must decide who will lead and where will they look for salvation.

What You Meant for Evil is a powerful, contextualized retelling of the Genesis story of Joseph. Looking at scripture in this way, enables readers to see just how relevant and relatable these ancient stories are to our lives today.
